Vipul Amrutlal Shah to adapt his hit action film franchise ‘Commando’ as a web series

After making waves as a high-octane action film, superhit film franchise, Vidya Jamwal starrer ‘Commando’ is all set to be adapted into a series. Backed by an ace director and franchise mastermind, Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the series will revisit the action saga in a new format. This adaptation will set a trend in India by becoming the first film franchise to progress into a digital series.

The new show will trace the adventures of Para SF Captain Karan Singh Dogra (originally played by popular actor Vidyut Jammwal) in fine detail, giving viewers a closer look at his life and mission. The makers are currently looking for a fresh face to portray the mysterious character in the new show.

Expressing his happiness, Vipul shared, “It is an absolute joy and pleasure to expand an action franchise like Commando to the OTT world. The franchise has been very special as we launched the extremely talented Vidyut Jammwal and it has become one of the most successful action franchises. It will be very exciting as it is going to be another experiment with the same franchise which has never happened in India. Commando as a film has only Vidyut Jammwal but OTT will launch a new Commando. Also, action is a genre that is very vague on OTT in India, so in that sense, it will be a new thing for OTT, so it will be fun to do’

Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s previous stint with OTT was the hit series ‘Human’ starring Shefali Shah.
