Akshay Kumar, who is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Raksha Bandhan’, has congratulated the team of ‘Soorai Potru’ for a big win at the 68th National Awards. The function was organized in Delhi on Friday afternoon.

Actor Suriya shared the Best Actor award with Ajay Devgn, who won for ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, while Aparna Balamurali won the Best Actress award. The film ‘Soorarai Potru’ won the title of Best Feature Film.

Akshay, who is remaking the film in Hindi, wrote on Twitter, “Over the Moon to the #SooraraiPotru wins top honors at the National Awards. Meanwhile, Suriya recently welcomed Akshay Kumar on board for the project. The Hindi remake will be Suriya’s first film as a producer in Bollywood. It was also reported that he will be seen doing a cameo in Akshay’s film. Sudha Kongara, director of ‘Soorrai Pottru’, will also direct the Hindi remake.

Earlier today, R Madhavan also wished Suriya and Ajay Devgn for their awards. Suriya recently did a cameo in his film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.
