Ranbir Kapoor’s film sees a big drop on Monday

Ranbir Kapoor’s period action film ‘Shamshera’, which had a slow opening, saw a major drop on Monday. The film hardly saw any jump on Sunday and on Monday the collections fell by about 65-75% from Friday. According to Box Office India reports, the Karan Malhotra directorial earned around Rs 2.75-3 crore on Monday. With this the total collection of the film has gone up to Rs 34 crore in four days.

Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, Disha Patani and John Abraham-starrer Ek Villain 2 is even more difficult for ‘Shamshera’ releasing this week, which has not received good reviews either.

Shamshera’s slow opening at the box office had worried the business circles early on. Talking to ETimes, Taran Adarsh had said, “The industry should know that content is king, and this is true for all seasons. In this case the content was old and in the era of OTT you have ‘Shamshera’ scenes. I had crows flying. You have seen RRR and KGF, so you must realize what the audience wants.”
