Dobara revolves around a woman who tries to save the life of a boy who is indirectly involved in a murder that happened two decades ago. How the woman and the boy connect to each other through a bizarre television set is the crux of the film.
The trailer again shows Taapsee, her husband and their daughter moving into a new house. Soon the family learns that in the house next to them, a young boy had died during a thunderstorm 26 years earlier. After this, Taapsee’s character is seen interacting with the same young boy. While the trailer reveals the retelling of how, during a thunderstorm, Taapsee’s character transforms the past and in turn her present, it also teases the thrilling theories of time travel.
Dobara is the Hindi adaptation of the Spanish thriller Mirage, which was released in 2018. The project marks the reunion of Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee after Manmarziyaan. Shashwat Chatterjee and others also have an important role in the film. Dobara will premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne on August 12 before its release in India.
Taapsee was recently seen in Shabaash Mithu. The sports biopic was directed by Srijit Mukherjee and produced by Viacom18 Studios. The film is based on the life of Mithali Raj, former Test and ODI captain of the India women’s national cricket team, and stars Taapsee in the lead role. The film did not perform well at the box office. Taapsee’s upcoming projects include Rajkumar Hirani’s next film Dunki starring Shah Rukh.
