Laal Singh Chaddha screening: Junaid Khan joins father Aamir Khan, Atul Kulkarni | Bollywood

The team of Laal Singh Chaddha came together for a special screening of the film on Friday. Among them were Aamir Khan, his son Junaid Khan, Atul Kulkarni and Makarand Deshpande.

Aamir Khan is all set to return to the silver screen after a long break of three and a half years with his film Laal Singh Chaddha. A special screening of the film was held on Friday before its release in cinemas on August 11. The entire team of the film appeared at the screening without Kareena Kapoor and Mona Singh. During the screening, Aamir was seen in a short beige colored kurta and his trademark harem pants. As she posed alone for the paparazzi and along with her team, her son Junaid Khan was also spotted at the venue. A video of Aamir sitting in the car in the back seat with Junaid was shared by a paparazzi account on Instagram.

Among others present at the screening was Laal Singh Chaddha writer and actor Atul Kulkarni. Actors Makarand Deshpande and Shekhar Suman were also present.

Recently, Aamir revealed that he wanted Junaid to play the role of Lal Singh Chaddha and was confident that he could do it. While he also found support from almost everyone who saw the clip of Junaid as Laal Singh Chaddha, producers Aditya Chopra and Atul Kulkarni did not accept the idea. He told TV9 in an interview, “Junaid, as soon as he played him, he turned red. Some actors are skilled, they know their craft and perform really well. While others become the characters they play. Junaid became one. Seeing his performance staggered my confidence while I was confident for him. I don’t have that innocence anymore and it did so naturally.”

“However, the film’s writers Aditya Chopra and Atul Kulkarni had raised objections. They wanted me to play the character. According to him, the story of Forrest Gump is not that solid. It is an episodic film which needs a star. A new actor can’t take it away,” he said.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of Tom Hanks’ classic, Forrest Gump. It depicts the character of Aamir at different stages of his life. Some of his different looks can be seen in the song Tur Kaliyan.
