Anurag Kashyap’s Taapsee Pannu starrer crashes after collecting Rs 20 lakh on its first Monday

Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dobaara’, which hit the screens on August 19, got very few takers. After a low opening of Rs 75 lakh at the box office, the film crashed on its first Monday.

The thriller drama managed to rake in Rs 20 lakh on its first Monday, taking its total collection to Rs 2.70 crore. A report in said that the film was released in theaters as the streaming giants insisted on a theatrical release before going digital.

The report also states that the Taapsee starrer will earn less than Rs 3.25 crore in its first week and the lifetime business will probably struggle to reach Rs 3.50 crore.

Apart from Taapsee, the film also featured her ‘Thappad’ co-stars Pavail Gulati and Rahul Bhat in pivotal roles. Ahead of the film’s release, Taapsee had shared that ‘Dobaara’ received a positive response from the pre-release show and urged the audience to give the film a chance.

On the work front, Taapsee will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ co-starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. Apart from this, she also has her first production, ‘Blur’ in her kitty.
