“It was difficult for beginners like me, who had just started working, to make a mark. I consider myself lucky as I started my career on television with a lead role. But during the pandemic, as we were all locked in our homes without any work, it was difficult to get back on track. Visibility is a must during the initial phase of career and it became impossible as most of us were without work,” says the young actor.
Known for playing important characters in TV dailies safaris of holy faith And Maa Vaisho DeviSays Pandey, “I managed to get work after the lockdown, that too a central role but the show could not go on for more than a few months. The reasons were many, including finance, while in some cases the ratings simply fell. We had to accept the huge pay-cut without any second thought. But as long as I was getting projects that offered me important roles, I accepted the pay cut without hesitation.
After months of slump, Pandey believes things are looking up for the entertainment industry. “Yes, now things are fast getting back into action. my new show by luck is on shoot mode and will air next month. Here again I am playing the role of the protagonist and I hope this show gives me more work especially on mediums like OTT and films,” says an alumnus of City Montessori School, Lucknow
